WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN HEADLIGHTS ARE OXIDIZED?

Most headlights in use today are made of high density Poly-carbonate material which is a type of dense plastic.  Overtime, often in as few as 3-5 years, the material will give way to ultraviolet rays, heat, rain, and other harsh realities of driving and will begin to lose it's optical clarity.  This loss is seen as a cloudy outer layer with poor light transmission.  This is called oxidation and, if left untreated, can reduce the effectiveness of your headlights by more than 50%.  It is also important to note that headlight restoration is an excellent economic and environmental alternative over replacement.  As of 2019, there are an estimated 275,000,000 registered vehicles in the United States.  Restoring, rather than replacing headlights will substantially reduce the number of headlight assemblies sent to landfills.

HOW DOES BRIGHT BEAMS RESTORE HEADLIGHTS?

Bright Beams has perfected a process that removes the oxidized surface layer and replaces it with an optically clear coating almost identical to when the headlight assemblies were originally manufactured and installed.  Once the layer is restored, we then add a new UV resistant layer to protect your headlights and to prevent oxidation for a minimum of 1 year as long as the surfaces are washed regularly.

WHY SHOULDN'T I JUST BUY A KIT AND DO IT MYSELF?

This is entirely your choice and one that is often selected by car owners.  However, while those kits can provide some clarity, they are limited in their longevity and will need to be done over and over again.  Having your headlights professionally restored will greatly extend their usefulness and save you a great deal of money from temporary fixes and expending hundreds of dollars purchasing new fixtures.  In addition, if not applied correctly, these kits can cause more damage to your lens surfaces that may further degrade your clarity.

HOW LONG DOES THE RESTORATION TAKE AND CAN I DRIVE IN?

Our refined process normally takes 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete a full restoration.  However, this time can vary depending on the degree of oxidation and size of the headlights.  Those with lite oxidation requiring polish and protectant can be completed in less than 30 minutes.  At this time, we are an appointment only operation but will extend our services very soon to include mobile services.

ARE THERE ANY LIMITS ON WHAT CAN BE REPAIRED?

The standard restoration process focuses primarily on treating the outer surface of your headlights to remove light scratches, paint overspray, and oxidation.  However, if the assemblies are cracked, gouged deeply, or condensed from the inside, we will recommend replacement rather than surface restoration.

WHAT IF I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH BRIGHT BEAMS?

We pride ourselves on gaining your satisfaction and earning your loyalty through many referrals to your family and friends.  Therefore, if we fail in this effort, we will re-accomplish the work free of charge within 1 year after your initial restoration.

I'VE HEARD OF OTHER SHOPS THAT CAN RESTORE LIGHTS  FOR LESS MONEY IN HALF THE TIME. HOW?

As the saying goes, "If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is"! If someone is claiming this, then they're surely cutting corners or using a basic technique that will oxidize in a very short time. In fact, some so called "professionals" may even use household materials such as toothpaste, baking soda, and even vinegar.  None of these solutions have been known to provide the clarity and longevity that our system will. A professional restoration will always save you money and time and is well worth your investment.
